Rutland Region CERT
Community Emergency Response Team
The Rutland Region Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program
helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations
in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give
critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to
victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT
members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve
the safety of the community.
Rutland Region CERT is sponsored by LEPC 2, the Local Emergency Planning Committee serving the Rutland Region. CERT training is comprised of approximately 25 hours and includes Red Cross CPR and First Aid training. All training is free and open to those interested in being a part of the emergency support volunteer community.
The next training session is scheduled for early 2006 in Poultney, VT. The actual date and location will be posted here as soon as plans have been finalized.
