CERT TRAINING
The local Citizen's Corps is looking for enthusiastic neighbors who are interested and willing to become volunteers and receive training in:
- Disaster Preparedness
- Disaster Medical Operations
- Disaster Fire Suppression
- Disaster Psychology
- Light Search & Rescue Operations
- Traffic Control
- Incident Command System
- Opportunities for new skills
CERT Training Course
The purpose of this course is to provide the private citizens who complete the course with the basic skills they will need to respond to their community's needs in the aftermath of a major disaster, when emergency services are not immediately available. CERT teams can assist in saving lives and protecting property using the basic techniques in this course. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community
Once trained, a CERT will be able to provide the following services to their neighborhood:
- Increase their neighborhood's disaster readiness.
- Assist in triage and provide medical services to the injured with direction.
- Assist in light search and rescue operations.
- Assess damage after a disaster.
- Organize procurement of supplies.
